This aspect of the GS scheme aims to make weathering the elements for rough sleepers as bearable as possible, whilst minimising the harm that it can inflict. Specifics vary, but the most commonly desired items are:

• Heavy duty rucksacks.
• Tents and sleeping bags.
• Waterproofs, thermal clothing and boots.
• Hygiene and sanitary products.

Ultimately this scheme aims to make sleeping rough as bearable as possible. Needless to say, this project is of paramount importance during the winter and rainy seasons whereby exposure to the severe weather can be fatal. Conversely, different items are needed during particularly hot weather. Any items which are no longer needed if a client moves into temporary accommodation can be returned and recycled.
